If you’ve popped by our showrooms recently, you may have noticed some exciting new displays, all designed with the fabulous German Oxford range. After seeing this particular range during our Hacker factory tour in October, we knew we had to get our hands on it!
The great thing about all the ranges at Kitchen Design Centre is their versatility. Although we may be using the same colours, materials and furnishings in a number of homes, there are so many ways we can make a kitchen personal to a client’s needs. This is what we decided to demonstrate across our Colne and Manchester kitchen showrooms, creating very different kitchen designs using the new German Oxford range.
At the Colne kitchen showroom you’ll find a beautiful beige grey display. It’s accented with white painted shaker doors and angel white granite to complement the mix of door colours. “It’s English inspired cabinetry meets German precision manufacturing,” explains designer Simon Thomas.
Intelligent features include a dresser shelf unit all with the latest recessed led lights as well as some of the latest interior organisation systems called MOVE. These innovative storage systems are really impressive and include things like solid wood inner fitting and cutlery trays, base units with waste systems, interior drawers with removable bottle racks and a special cooking storage system.
Of course, one of our kitchens wouldn’t be complete without top-end appliances and a showroom kitchen is no different. For this display we’ve chosen a 90cm duel fuel range cooker with a built in chef top and a traditional mantle with 120cm stainless steel chimney hood, a built in microwave and top of the range dishwasher, as well as the latest Neff Vita fresh fridge – that keeps your produce fresh for up to four times longer.
Over at the Manchester showroom you’ll see that designer John Crosby has worked his magic with the German Oxford range too. After seeing how well the cashmere and white doors worked together, he decided to also introduce a contrasting colour – walnut. John integrated a full stave 80mm American Walnut breakfast bar into the design to create a completely different look and feel to the German Oxford range. A mantle was also built to house a Britannia Intimo hood, creating a real focal point in the kitchen and a more traditional, natural look by integrating yet more wood.
Other fabulous features include a useful broom unit, with the interior set out to house every day items, such as coats and jackets, brushes, vacuum cleaner and a wire shelving system for cleaning products. A larder unit, which has pull out drawers to make access into the unit much easier, was also designed into the kitchen space. These units sit by the must-have American Fridge Freezer, which has an ice making facility and temperature control VarioBox.
Deciding which colour kitchen cabinets to go for can be a struggle. But why restrict yourself to one colour when you can have two? The latest two-tone kitchen cabinets trend sees designers putting different colour combinations, paint treatments and finishes together, creating colourful bespoke kitchens that have more personality. Problem solved.

There are a variety of ways that black can be worked into the kitchen to maintain balance, such as introducing a light marble to create a classic monochrome look. For something more bold and dramatic, black work surfaces and splashbacks will be paired with other black elements, such as stained or painted cabinetry or lighting for a wow-factor and opulent result.
